' They lived in Ropemakers row and then St Augustines.
Of the many children two were lost in the great war and May, the oldest girl
together with her brother, Walter went to the United States in the early
years of the last century. Elsie Clarke married Herbert Cutmore and they had
a bakery and sweet shop on Barrack St , next to the Sportsman pub.
The smart looking man (back left) is my grandfather Alfred
(Duke) Sheldon, he lived on Bignold Road most of his life and ended up on
Millers Lane close to the Angel, he played bowls for Waterloo park team for
many many years. '
