The railway line to Cromer opened in March 1877.

The station became known as Cromer High Station from 1887 in order to distinguish it from the then new Beach Station.

The station was closed to passenger traffic in September 1954. Running of the bar was by Messrs. Rusts of Cromer at the time of closure.

Licence not renewed 1957.
