On 15th October 1831 it was advertised that a Country Brewery, one of only two in Downham, was to be disposed of. Included were a 13 barrel and a 6 barrel brewing copper and a Malting with a 13 quarter steep. A Family Residence and other buildings, plus 23 acres of adjoining land. <This property?>

In January 1860, the Downham Brewery & Spirit Vaults of Mr. George William Mills offered:-
Fine Home-brewed Ale at 1s and 1s 4d per Gallon.

On 16th February 1867 Mr. George W. Mills confirmed that he was not leaving Downham as had been reported and the business would continue under his superintendence as heretofore.

George Mills advised 1st December 1870 that All the Spirit Bottles of the late Firm of J. T. banks and Co., Lynn, had been purchased. Holders were requested to return them to the Downham Brewery or advise where they could be found.
