1858 Offered for sale by auction Friday 9th July 1858 - The BEER-HOUSE, Feltwell, occupied by  William Ostler, the property of the late Arthur Morse (Swaffham Brewery). Including Eight Acres of Arable Land. Situated near the ELM TREE with two Stables, Yard and Shed. Also a well planted Orchard. (The closest known house to the ELM TREE would be the BUTCHERS ARMS, but licensees there not positively identified pre 1890).
1858 - 1890 JONATHAN PALMER In 1858, 1863, 1864, 1865, 1868, 1869, 1872, 1875, 1877 and 1883 he his recorded as a Grocer and Draper. No mention of beer.
By 1888 he is still a Grocer and Draper, but also an Ale & Wine Merchant.
In 1890 he is described as a Grocer, Draper and Beer & Wine Retailer.
In 1891 and 1892 it seems to be Arthur John Palmer running the business and again he is described as a Grocer, Draper and Ale & Wine Merchant.
Address given as *Cock Street in 1861 and 1891
The business is apparently run from the premises later to be the Wine LODGE, later still, the WELLINGTON. (* Cock Street became High Street)
