Mrs(?) Riches posted this card to Mrs Mann at the Lord Nelson, Dereham Road, Norwich (Licensee then Randell Mann), saying she was pleased to hear that Willie had arrived safe and well.

House dates from c1780

(Certainly known as the Feathers from at least 1790)

Lot No. 7 in auction of properties held at the Swan Inn, St. Peter's, Norwich 24th September 1808. This house was amongst properties, mostly in Kirkby Bedon, including 5 Farms.


Advertised for sale 16th September 1809.
then in the occupation of the executors of Peter Finch Esq.
Described as formerly called the BLACK HOUSE, but now the FEATHERS.

In July 1853, 6 acres of Arable Land, to the east of the FEATHERS INN (or BLACK HOUSE) were offered for sale by auction. (Land in occupation of Henry & John Riches).
