An inglenook fireplace, in the bar, was bricked up in early 1938 and a
tiled fireplace installed.
In November 1974 the fireplace was again opened up. A penny dated 1806
was found in the debris along with empty cigarette packets, one of
which had been dated 14th February 1938.
Advertised as an Inn with large ornamental gardens and scenic railway.
