Named in 1845, 1869 & 1877 directories, but not found in any census except 1911. Given as the ONE BELL INN in 1885 Register of Electors Morgans Brewery papers detail copyhold to which William Henry Hackblock was admitted 3rd August 1889. Evans Rolfe is recorded in directories until at least 1896 `Stood 3 or 4 doors down from Black Horse.' Said to still be open c1912. ( William Harrison is in the 1912 trades directory but listed as a farmer, no mention of beer.) |
