It was reported 14th November 1868 that George Painter, publican, had been remanded on bail, having been accused of knowingly receiving stolen 21ft deals from wherryman George Brakenbury.
At the Norfolk Quarter Sessions, Wednesday 9th January 1869, both Brakenbury and George Pointer were found guilty and sentenced to six months' hard labour.

The licence lapsed 1886 and was not renewed at the sessions held Tuesday 24th August 1886. The house was described as the property of E. G. Cubitt Esq.

Not found in 1891 census.
