Samuel Wortley gave evidence 19th December 1844, in the trial of George Storey and William Palmer who were accused of cutting and wounding Nathaniel Printer on 8th November 1844. In spite of the evidence of good character given by Mr. Wortley, the pair were found guilty and sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour.
