The Norfolk News of 29th June 1861 carried details of the forthcoming auction, Tuesday July 16th 1861, of :-
Lot 1 THE BREWERY  occupied by Mrs Rust.
Lots 2, 3 and 10 were garden and land.

Lot 8 was the RED LION, Wighton, with Blacksmiths Shop and occupied by Isaac Vertagan and .....Cooper.

Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 were other public houses in Wells and Hindringham.

Closure by compensation proposed March 1910, however the Bench agreed to keep the house open.

Licence transferred to the CARPENTERS ARMS 01.02.1926
