Joseph Phillips advised his Friends and the Public in general, 10th February 1827, that he had taken the Bull, lately occupied by Mrs. Barnes.
He had previously been at the White Horse, Romsey.

Joseph Phillips thanked his numerous Friends for their kind patronage with which they had hitherto honoured him - 19th August 1829.
He begged to assure them that it would always be his study by a strict attention to their comforts, united with moderate charges, to merit their support.

It was reported  Saturday 18th July 1829 that Zachariah Boswell had been convicted the previous Tuesday of stealing £1 17s in silver from the person of Sarah Clarke, wife of John Clarke, of the Bull public-house.
