OF LIFE given up in consideration of a new full licence.
On Tuesday 27th August 1901, applicants for Music and Singing Licences
were asked to signify their presence in order to allow the licence to be
granted. When it came to the turn of Mr. John Easton, in reply to the
Magistrate's Clerk, he replied that he was present, "With reluctance, Yes
sir." The Chairman asked the Chief Constable to repeat what had
been said and upon confirmation, stated that no application had been
made and the justices passed to the next business.
