In the Tenure or Occupation of Mr. Thomas Spinks under a Lease which expired at Michaelmas 1787.

The Live and Dead Farming Stock and the Household Furniture of the late Mr. James Harper were to be Sold By Auction Tuesday 10th 1876, by order of his Executors

On Thursday 28th September 1899, farmer and innkeeper, Francis Ward was thrown from his mare when it bolted. He suffered a fractured collar bone and one of his ribs.

It was advertised 10th November 1944 that somebody with the initials K. E. sought a County House or Bungalow to Rent, contact being c/o the Rose & Crown.

31st July 1942 - Mrs. Doughty sought a Nice country Girl, 14 - 16 as help; Live in; Good Home and Outings - Rose & Crown.
8th January 1943 - Mrs. Doughty offered a Good Home for a Girl, 14 - 16, required for help at the Rose & Crown.


A sale of 2 Horses, 7 head of Neat Stock and Household Furniture was to take place here Thursday, 4th October 1945 - For Mr. G. Doughty.

Messrs. Lacons, on Friday, 2nd November 1962, offered the former public house and farm for sale, de-licensed, as a property suitable for conversion to a spacious private dwelling, complete with 18 acres of permanent pasture. With five bedrooms, three sizeable bars, large sitting-room, semi-cellar, kitchen and pantry. A small walled-in garden separated the house from a range of farm outbuildings.
That day, at Diss Corn Hall, the property sold for £2,600.

On Saturday, 25th March 1972, a sale of Live and Deadstock took place at the Old Rose & Crown, upon instruction of Mr. G. Peschka.
150 pigs were included in the offerings.
