The Liberal Party convened a meeting here August 1870 in order to elect a candidate for the Southtown Ward.

Complaints were made August 1878 regarding noise and foul language being created by persons congregating on the corner. Mr. Walsh, the manager said he would remedy the situation.


Renamed the SUFFOLK TAVERN after 1928, before 1952.
(But appeared in the 1881 census as the SUFFOLK TAVERN, 7 Pier Road)

Closed for the duration of the war, as advised by a letter from Lacons dated 05.06.1941.
Reopened 04.06.1949.

The ENTERTAINER in 1978
and then the NEW ENTERTAINER in October 1982.
