Then by 1795,
the BALLAST KEEL.
Conveyed 23rd August 1845 by Samuel Paget &
Others to George Morse, Timothy Steward, Peter Finch & Henry Staniforth Patteson.
At the Police Court held on 20th April 1849 it was heard that Mr. Prettyman
had put Mr. King in charge of his house whilst he was at sea.
Upon his return he discovered that King had removed furniture and goods from
the house to the extent that Mr. Prettyman said the house was not viable and
he would give up the concern.
The Mayor ordered Mr. King to immediately restore the goods.
Said to have become the
GALLON
CAN but that house listed from at least 1836.
(Possibly licence of Ballast Keel removed to Gallon Can to provide full
licence?)
