Also found as the CANTERBURY STORES. Charles Howard applied for a spirit licence Monday 6th September 1869 having spent £500 on the premises in anticipation of the grant. The magistrates immediately refused the application by a large majority. On Thursday 28th August 1873, removal of the spirit licence from the PRINCE ALBERT to this house, was approved.
