For Sale by Auction Wednesday, 23rd June 1784 under a commission of Bankruptcy awarded against the owner, James Sley. Consisting of a Barber Shop and Cellar, used as a Public-house, known by the sign of the Chequers, in the occupation of James Wetherill on a Lease of 21 Years, from Christmas 1783, at the annual rent of £8 8s. The property adjoining, the Dwelling House of the said James Sley, was also included in the sale. ~ |
