On Tuesday 12th April 1864 it was heard that ill-feeling had
existed for some time between licensee George Johnson and baker
Robert Houghton.
On Monday 11th April Johnson had gone to the house of Houghton and
after brandishing a stick he threatened to murder him.
He was ordered to find sureties for three months, himself in £10 and
two of £5 each.
