At North Quay in 1856. Identified at Howard Street in 1869 and 1871. From the 1871 census returns this would be a house positioned towards (or at) the end of Row 59 and be between the MARINERS and the CARPENTERS. |
On Monday 13th October 1856 an inquest was held at the Happy Home, North Quay, on the body of William Corke, a 24 year old fisherman who had tried to get on board whilst in a state of intoxication and fell into the river. Verdict - Found drowned. . |
