On Thursday 11th April 1907, the Market Distillery,

with dwelling house, were offered for sale by auction. It was stated
that the takings between 1896 and 1903 ranged from £3,381 to £4,113 per
annum. Tenants fixtures and fittings were valued at £104 4s 6d and the
trade utensils and stock to be taken at valuation.
Some years previously the vendor had been offered £14,000 for the
property.
The first offer was £3,000 and at £4,700 the sale was withdrawn and a
lease of 7 or 14 years was offered instead. The bids rose from a rent of
£150 per annum to £190, when it was again withdrawn.
