At the Licensing Sessions held Monday 7th February 1910, Messrs. Hogge &
Seppings opposed the refusal of renewal of licence.
Chief Constable Payne objected to renewal on the grounds of redundancy and
said that there were seven other houses in the immediate neighbourhood.
In reply it was said that four local houses had been refused in the district
and the Chief Constable may be surprised that the Fisherman's Return had a
trade of 260 barrels a year. When the policeman was asked if that did not
show a want, he replied that `It shows a thirst'.
The Bench were satisfied that there was a need for the house and the licence
was renewed.
Bullards `relinquished' the licence 03.02.1964 according to a note in the Licence
register.
Demolished.
