Stood on the corner of the High Street and Union Lane. (Also known as Jermyns Lane) In 1883 proprietor Frederick Scott was advertising `Select musical entertainment every evening'. (Only the name of William Blanchflower appears in the Licence Register) At the Brewster Sessions held Monday 24th August 1885 an application was made to transfer the licence to a house in Almshouse Lane which Messrs. W & T Bagge intended to convert into a public house. Owners and occupiers of the vicinity objected and the request was refused. No application for licence at Annual General Licensing Meeting 1885. |
