On 12th February 1840, Ostler John Garnham was waiting for the return of a horse and gig, but since it got beyond midnight, he ascended into the hayloft and fell asleep. Awaking in the early hours, and not fully awake, he fell through the trap-door and suffered fractures of collar-bone, ribs and shoulder blade. He was taken to the Norfolk and Lynn Hospital to recover. Named as the FOUNTAIN in the 1871 census. Referred for Compensation 10.02.1908 Sold December 1908 Licence extinct 21.01.1909 |
