On 4th June 1863, Mr. Henry Rust informed the inhabitants of Lynn that his Brewery was open for the sale of genuine Homebrewed Ales and Truman, Hanbury, Buxton & Company's Ales  and Brown Stout, wholesale and retail. He assured that every order would be of good quality and right in price.
Ales supplied in 4½, 9, 18 and 36 gallon casks from 8d to 1/8 per gallon. Brown Stout in 18 and 36 gallon casks and smaller casks to suit the convenience of customers.

A new licence was granted at the end of August 1863 to Mr. Rust. It was said that the building was on Blackfriars Road and then "departing from former usage".

On 30th April 1864 the Freehold Brewery and Liquor Shop, known as the Norfolk Ale Brewery was advertised For Sale by Private Contract.
The property was described as entirely new and in good trade, the only reason for selling being the death of the late proprietor.
Location described as on the corner of Norfolk Street with a frontage of 48 feet and a frontage of 45 on Blackfriars Road.

In July 1864 Mr. Abel Porter announced that he had removed from the HANGING CHAINS to the premises opposite,
