Given in 1836 as premises with a licence allowing consumption of beer on the premises.
    Full licence recorded by 1872.

Samuel Farr is given in occupation in the 1881 census, but does not appear in the Licence
    Registers.

Monday 21st August 1882 - Application made to transfer the license to new
premises to be erected in Cresswell Street, North End.
The tenant, "who had not conducted herself in a way to meet with Mr.
Bentley's approbation, had been turned out." The existing license ran from
10th October 1881 until 10th October 1882, and by law, the licence had to be
renewed because there were no grounds to refuse it, unless it was
transferred. The house was still open for business and the licence "held on
foot", if necessary it would remain open, "earning more for Mr. Bentley in
the next two years than the proposed new house."
The licence transfer was granted "as a preliminary step" on condition that
the licenses of two houses were given up.

No application made for licence renewal 27th August 1883.

Licence transferred to the NEW HOTEL, North End.
