A person named John Whitmore was imprisoned for 2 months, with hard labour, Wednesday 3rd April 1844, for stealing a piece of rope, the property of Thomas Walton. <Same person given as licensee in 1845?> The Creditors of John Whitmore were to meet Monday 20th January 1845. Mr. Whitmore was described as:- Formerly of Wattisfield, Suffolk, Grocer and Draper, then of Framlingham, Licensed Brewer, then of Diss, unemployed, then of Botesdale, Suffolk, Journeyman to a General Shopkeeper, then of Walsham-le-Willows, unemployed, then of Distillery Street, Norwich, unemployed, then of ,Westgate Street, Norwich, Butcher and Bread Seller, next of 111 Norfolk Street Publican and Dealer in Wine and Spirits, lately a Prisoner for Debt in Norwich Castle, an Insolvent debtor. |
