24th October 1996 A numerous party of the Auxiliary Conservatives dined here, the Queens' Arms Tavern, the house of Leonard Goodwin, on Thursday 13th December 1838. Reported as the Queen's Head, New road, January 1839, when a carpenters rule, silk handkerchief, cotton handkerchiefs and other articles were apparently stolen by Benjamin Bradfield, carpenter of Norwich. Included in 1872 deeds of the estate of John Jex Rolfe when acquired by Hogge & Seppings. Following a seven year closure, the house reopened 28th April 1978. The adjoining former army recruiting office being included as an extension. Application to convert into an Islamic centre approved 30th April 2012. |
