Advertised 12th August 1854 as a Newly-erected Brick and Slated Public House by the sign of the Rein Deer, situate in Highgate, in the parish of Gaywood, near Lynn. To be Sold by Auction at the Rummer Inn on Wednesday 23rd August 1854. Described as with large yard, stable and skittle ground, with loft over, large sunk cellar, scullery, kitchen, pantry, dairy, bar parlour, and four excellent sleeping-rooms, all in good repair. For Sale by Auction Wednesday, 8th June 1859, then in the occupation of George Lawn, or his undertenant, at the rent of £20 per annum, under a lease expiring 25th December 186-? Given in 1877 as the STAG, Gaywood House transferred from Freebridge Marshland (Gaywood) to Kings Lynn Borough (Kettlewell) under the Kings Corporation Act of 1880.
