On Tuesday 14th April 1908 landlord
Edward Rose sang "The Jolly Waggoner" to Ralph Vaughan
Williams who was visiting the area collecting traditional
songs.
The following day Walter Debbage sang "Geordie" and "The
Wealthy Farmer's Son", whilst Christopher Jay performed
"Lovely Joan", "Molecatcher" and "Monday Morning".
On Thursday 16th April 1908, Walter Debbage sang "I'll
Go and Enlist", "Died
for Love" and "Paddy Magee's Dream".
On Saturday 18th April 1908 an unknown singer sang "John
Reilly" and Christopher Jay performed "Foggy Dew", "Maria Marten"
and "Phoebe". Walter Debbage sang "Pretty Nancy".
