Location also as at Little
Witchingham.
On the morning of Monday 24th January 1814, at about 5:00 am, the house
was found to be in flames and was almost totally destroyed before
assistance could be procured. All the household furniture and goods of
the honest man who kept the house, were destroyed. It was conjectured
that a beam had caught fire in one of the chimneys. House named the
BELL.
Named the PEACOCK ARMS in
1881 census and up until 1882.
Renamed the CANTERBURY ARMS
in 1882.
Back to the BELL
in 1901.
