Monday 20th March 1897 - Summoned at
Clerkenwell Police Court, by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals for "gingering" his horse at the Shire Horse Society's Show
on 24th February. "Gingering" had been in vogue for a number of years in
order to enhance the appearance of the animals and to defraud the
judges.
Fine of £2 and 21s costs. (Three other persons were also fined for
similar offences) |

1830 :
The coach to, `The TELEGRAPH' called every morning at 8.30am on route from Norwich to
London. It returned every evening at 6.00pm.
Vans from Norwich to London, by Deacon, Mack & Co. called at the CROWN and GRIFFIN
every night and returned the following morning.
Carrier John Wells from Norwich called every Saturday evening at 6.00pm on route to
Kenninghall. The return visit was made every Friday afternoon.

The estate of the late L S BIDWELL was conveyed to S C BIDWELL 30th December 1868.
The estate was sold 1883.
