Edmund Hall applied, 1st August 1873, for a licence to sell beer by
Retail and to be drunk in the House and Premises.
(apparently refused).
He applied for transfer of the beerhouse licence to his nephew, Robert
Hall, Monday 2nd September 1889 - Granted.
At the Petty Sessions it was claimed that the house was needed since
there was no public house within 2 to 3 miles. The report that customers
sat and drank on the church wall was denied.
Robert Hall is given as a beer seller and agricultural labourer living near the Church
in 1891.
His OFF Licence was withdrawn upon the Roman Camp receiving a licence.
