On 2nd February 1952, the Licensing Justices confirmed that the plans, submitted by Messrs. Bullard & Sons Ltd., for new premises on Norwich Road, had been approved. Conditions were that the sign of the new house was to be approved by the Aylsham Parish Council and that the licence of one licensed house, in Norfolk be given up. On 12th February 1952, Bullards Brewery were given permission for removal of the licence of the PITMAN ARMS, to a new house to be erected on the Norwich Road. At the time of the decision, the licensee of the Pitman Arms was Robert A. Shorten, however Sydney Rounce was licensee of the Pitman Arms by April 1955. |
