Full licence awarded to beerhouse keeper Jenison Atthow
on 31st August 1870. At the magistrates hearing of Friday 19th January 1912
it was heard that Police Constable Baker had witnessed the playing of
nine-pins, with beer as the prize, on 30th December. Since Mr Boatwright
was ill, he was represented by Mr. E. Bullard who confirmed that the
offending game had been done away with and the offence would not be
repeated. This was exactly the same offence as had been committed, the
same day, at the nearby GRAVEL PIT HOUSE.
~
Under private ownership from September 2010.
Refurbished to open as a Thai restaurant Friday 12 August 2011.
