Daniel Reeve purchased a property on this site in January 1774.
Redeveloped by 1795 as the ADAM & EVE.
Offered for sale by Auction on 16th June 1813.
Then called the Punch Bowl and tenanted by John Cook as undertenant to
John Patteson Esq.
In 1815 it was
referenced as being lately called the Adam & Eve and now under the
sign of the Punch Bowl.
A yearly rent of £23 had been paid since 1801.
The house is recorded in the Licensing Registers as holding a full
licence. It appears however that the house only ever operated as a beerhouse.
Licence NOT Applied for at Sessions 06.02.1959
