On Wednesday 25th October 1847, 19 year old John English was charged
with stealing a stone bottle worth 6d, containing beer worth 4d and some
meal and cheese worth 2d from the house of publican, Samuel Smith.
Acquitted.
Closure agreed at first joint committee meeting of Bullards and S&P
29th May 1962. Sales given as 39 barrels of beer. Tenant (Arthur Ladell) said to be 65
years old and to have been a tenant for 30 years.
Notice given to tenant as reported at Rationalisation Committee Meeting
22nd July 1964.
