The Kings Head - Brooke - c1910
c1910

A cottage converted to an Inn c1640.

Included in Loddon & Clavering Register taken 21st September 1789.

Appears on Bryant's 1826 map.

It was reported 15th October 1853, that on the previous Tuesday, William Knights had died following a long affliction. He was aged 37 years. This is presumably William Knights junior?

On Sunday 24th August 1873, the building containing a brew-house, coal-house and wash-house, on the premises of Mr. Martins, the Kings Head, was destroyed by fire. A box of carpenter's tools, a mangle and some chairs, and other articles were consumed or damaged.

KINGS HEAD to c1996 then renamed to

COCKERS BAR & BRASSERIE.

Back to KINGS HEAD February 1999

The Kings Head - Broome - c1995
