Only found in December 1786, November 1787 newspaper reports and 1789 licence records. An Auction of Three Tenements, and Two pieces of Garden Ground was held here Tuesday, 21st March 1786. The Norfolk Chronicle of 9th December 1786 advertises an Old-accustomed Malting Office, on the Quay, to be Let, immediately. Particulars could be had of Mr. John Jeary, Custom-house Officer; or Mr. Robert Masters at the White Horse, Cley; or Barnabas Batterbe, Draper & Mercer, Attleborough. An Auction was held here Friday, 2nd November 1787. Two Thirds of the Sloop, Squirrel (50 tons), One Sixteenth of the Brig James (80 tons), a Moiety of a Lighter, (25 tons) and sundry Lots of White-wood Deals were to be sold. Particulars could be had of Mr. John Mann, Merchant at Cley. Those persons indebted to the Bankrupt ( Mr. Mann?) were desired to pay their debt to Mr. Mann.
