 Documents exist dating the house back to 1728.
 
 Appears on Bryant's 1826 map.
 
 William Oliver advised his Friends and the Public, 3rd May 1849, that he 
		had taken Possession of the Inn and would be supplying Superior Ales, 
		London Porter, Wines and Spirits.
 A Bowling Green was being prepared and would open very soon.
 
		11th June 1891 - Proprietor Harry Gandar advised Secretaries of Fishing, 
		Cycling and other Clubs that the Hotel had undergone complete renovation 
		and was situated in one of the most picturesque spots of the Eastern 
		Counties, adjoining the River, which afforded excellent fishing and 
		boating. It also had one of the prettiest Bowling Greens.
 The Household Furniture, a 14 ft Dingy and a useful Chestnut Pony, the 
		property of Mr. Hulbert were to be Sold, Monday 8th October 1900 since 
		he was moving.
 
 Mr. L. Platten offered a Donkey (good goer) and a nearly new Set of 
		Harness and a Varnished Car, for sale, October 1902.
