Named at various times BELL, CHAPEL BELL (1865 & 1881), CHAPEL, CHAPEL BELL TAVERN, BLUE BELL (1839 & 1871).

As BELL in Cann & Clarke deed of partnership 1st June 1824.

Shown as the BELL INN on Bryant's 1826 map.

Given as at SUTON 1836, 1846, 1865 & 1869
As at Downham 1845 and 1850.
Location as at Chapel Lane 1851, 1861, 1871, 1879 & 1891.

Richard Grant is given at the Blue Bell, Crownthorpe Road, in 1872.

Situated approximately one mile beyond the Cock on Crownthorpe Road, heading towards Kimberley. Supposed to be named after either a Friends Meeting house, or older Westwade Chapel.
