Croxton appears in the Thetford Licensing Register from 10.02.1955.
On Tuesday 7th February 1905, the inhabitants of Croxton
complained of the annoyance caused by the polyphone played on Sundays.
Police-constable Riches said that a better class of people considered it a
nuisance as it was near the church and played dance tunes. Licensee Wolsey
said that the house was much further from the church than the constable had
suggested and in other places, including Brandon, it was allowed to play all
day.
The Chairman reminded him that he did it at his own risk.
No change recommended at First Joint Committee Meeting of Bullards and
S&P 29th May 1962.
Sales given as 70 barrels in the previous year.
