On Wednesday 2nd February 1927, Mr. Johnson of the Crown & Anchor was in charge of a pony and trap which was in collision with a motor car driven by Mr. F. Clarke.
Mr. Fred Fisher, who was a passenger in the trap, was thrown into the road and Mr. Johnson onto the back of the pony.
Mr. Clarke kindly took Mr. Fisher to the surgery for treatment and afterwards to the Crown & Anchor.
Apart from a broken harness, there was no great damage.

Alterations to the property approved 8th February 1911 with the comment that the changes appeared to be a manifest improvement, a convenience to the public, and better in every way.

The Outdoor Effects, including two smart Governess Cars, two Ralli Cars and a Spring Pony Trap, as well as a quantity of Household Furniture were to be Sold by Auction, Wednesday, 15th May 1940.
The sale was at short notice, upon the instructions of Mr. Johnson, who was leaving.

 William Deakin applied for an excise licence to sell by retail, intoxicating liquors, namely Beers Wines and Spirits on a notification dated 13th January 1949. The licence was granted at the Licensing Meeting at the Sessions House (Corn Hall), Thursday 10th February 1949.
