May 1986 At the Petty Sessions Saturday 20th June 1869, licensee John Everitt was charged by Superintendent Lumbley of using false measures. No fine was imposed but the accused had to pay 10s costs. It seems he left the house soon afterwards. At the annual Licensing Meeting, Wednesday, 3rd February 1915 it was heard that the promise made at the previous meeting, that the White Hart would be put into good order, had not materialised. The house was still in a very dilapidated condition and the only change was that a very small amount of building material had been carted to the place. A spokesman for the brewery said that plans had been passed and the works were proceeding, everything being done, that could be. The following month, the brewery spokesman confirmed that ten men were working on the house and the tenant had been provided with nearby accommodation whilst the works were carried out. In February 1916 it was confirmed that renovations had been successfully completed. Sold by Norwich Brewery, as a "Freehouse" June 1983. Reopened following renovations, (scheduled for ) 21st April 1984. Closed during 1992 to September 1994 Observed closed 20th March 2007. |
