Saturday 2nd May 1857 - Accused of allowing drunkenness and other disorderly conduct in his house at 1:00 am. Dismissed with a caution.
Saturday 2nd October 1869 - Paid a fine of 2s and 12s costs for allowing his house to be open for the sale of beer before the termination of divine service on Sunday 19th September. Absent at the time, Mr. Lambert said he had left his son in charge, and in the 45 years he had been at the house, this was the first complaint.

An inglenook fireplace, in the bar, was bricked up in early 1938 and a tiled fireplace installed.
In November 1974 the fireplace was again opened up. A penny dated 1806 was found in the debris along with empty cigarette packets, one of which had been dated 14th February 1938.

 

Advertised as an Inn with large ornamental gardens and scenic railway.
