Benjamin Lane was granted a new licence (full) Tuesday 8th September 1868.

January 1893 - George Purdy of the Prince of Wales was accused of having an unjust spring balance in his possession on 18th October 1892 when he was trading as a butcher in Watton. The charge was dismissed upon it being proved that the balance, had not been used for two years.

October 1911 - John Neale was accused of stealing 14 fowls belonging to James Harris of Hingham, on or about 16th February 1911. Mr. Neale claimed that a dealer had sold him some fowls for 1s 9d apiece in the middle of February. He and his wife had then driven to Brandon, in search of a house, since they were leaving the Prince of Wales, they had taken the fowls with them and did not believe they were stolen.
The jury declared Not Guilty and the charges were dismissed.

The decision to renew the licence was postponed at the sessions held Monday 14th February 1916. It was considered that the division had a redundancy of public houses.  The Royal Oak at East Harling and the Angel at Attleborough were the other houses included in the list to be determined.

Friday 22nd December 1916 - Compensation fixed at £516 13s 6d, 5 per cent to be paid to the tenant and the remainder to the owner.
