1789.
Thieves broke into the house of William Howsham on Monday 12th April
1819. They stole £15 from a bureau and about 14 gallons of spirit from
the cellar. They were un-named and still free two weeks later.

S&P report prepared for Watney Mann April 1969 recommended immediate closure, stating
`Bar is dismal, Cellar damp and toilet accommodation unsanitary.''
S&P sales in final year of trading were :-
18 barrels of draught beer &
15 barrels of bottled beer.
Reasons for closure stated :-
"Structure sound, but sanitation poor."
Demolished and site included within housing development.
