Part of the Estate of bankrupt William Bristow sold by auction Tuesday, 18th
December 1832.
Lot 1 comprised ALL those newly-erected Dwelling-houses erected in Great
Hautbois.
Lot 2 being ALL those newly-erected Freehold Messuages situated in Hainford,
one of which being converted into a Public-House known by the sign of the
KING AND COUNTRYMAN, in
occupation of Augustin Beck.
Augustin or Austin Beck is given in trade directories at an un-named
beerhouse in 1836 to 1846. By 1851 he is named at
WHEATSHEAF Farm.
