On 3rd March 1599, Mortgage by Thomas Carver of Harleston, cordiner, (cordwainer or shoemaker), to Thomas Ellgoode of the same, yeoman, of a messuage, sometimes called "The Harte," with the buildings, gardens, &c., in Harleston, for the sum of £23. Recorded as the White Hart at a meeting of overseers, on 3rd December 1733
