Black Horse Drove, Littleport. Only found by name in 1794, again in 1851 (Norfolk) census when location given as at Tunstead and in sales notification of 1857. Lot number 6 in the sale of Freehold Properties to be held at the BELL, Hilgay on Friday 24th July 1857. The seven lots were the remaining properties of R. M. Layton Esq., who had disposed of his Brewery. Location given as in Cave's Lane, Hilgay and containing; Three low rooms and three chambers; a large brick and thatched Barn, a brick and tiled Stable with Granary over, lean-to Piggeries and Loose Boxes; Yard enclosed by brick walls and open lodges and Orchard and Garden Ground, together 1A 0P 13R.
