Shown on Bryant's 1826 map. At Hundred Foot Bank 1892 Ten Mile Bank in 1925 The inquest into the death of licensee Henry Carman was held at the premises in the evening of Wednesday 6th June 1832. The deceased had been discovered dead in a local field on that same day. The verdict was `Died by a Visitation of God'. The property of the Bedford Level Corporation, to be Sold February 1858. (One of twelve public houses being sold - Occupation of tenants about to terminate on or about Lady Day, 25th March 1859) Licensee Watson and customer Walter Jefferson both pleaded guilty to charges made in court 15th April 1912. Constable Symonds had visited the house at 2:53pm on 31st March and found Watson putting a pint mug of beer into a cupboard. Watson said he had asked Jefferson to stay because it was raining. No beer had been drawn after 2:30pm and Watson said he was sorry. Licence renewal not made at Sessions 2nd February
